drive, and will try the freezer trick.
be sure to call IBM and check on the warranty on that drive
be sure to call IBM and check on the warranty on that drive before you
chuck it. Many of the travelstar drives have a 3 year warranty. Even if
you need to purchase a new drive sooner, you can have that one fixed
under warranty and get a working drive back to use in an external case,
or sell

Thanks to the person who made it known the travelstars have a 3 year
warranty!! I purchased this Pismo used over at powerbook central. The
previous owner upgraded the HD, and the warranty is still valid until
September!!!
Ok, I have a 500mhz Pismo. All has been fine, I tried to start it up,
but all I get is click, click, click from the drive. It has a 48 gig
Travelstar in it. After the clicking, it shows the question mark and
the finder folder. I tried booting with tech tool pro, all it found
for volumes
Bad news, my friend your hard drive has died. The clicking sound, is the
tall tale sign your hard drive is dead. The second factor is Tech tool Pro
can't find your hard drive. I hope you have your data backed up. If you
haven't backed up your data, you might try the freezer trick, to temp mount
