I have had a problem with one DVD sounding like a buzzsaw also, in my TiG4 400MHz. This is a slot-loading unit. I thought it was caused by an imbalance of the DVD; I don't have that problem with any other of the DVD's I've tried, though there seems to be a problem with reading cd's and DVD's

Dear Listessas, Listas - How hard would it be to replace the DVD drive in a PB G4 500 with the ones now standard (?) in the 'new' Ti 550 and 667 ? I have replaced HD, RAM etc. in different PB's and I heard that there are really only two (?) manufacturers for the 'new' Combo drives. How much
