Strictly speaking, you CAN use drives larger than 128 GB; you just can't address those parts of the drive beyond the 128 GB limit. This is important because finding a new 120 GB PATA drive is becoming difficult. If you can find a (say) 160 GB disk which is cheaper than a 120, you can save yoursel

Dennis. The drives in both PC and Mac are the same, it is the physical formatting and partitioning that makes the difference. Windows uses FAT32 and NTFS, while Mac OSX uses HFS+. Apple use a lot of Seagate and Western Digital drives, but any IDE will work in both. However using the IDE bus

Dana. I have a patched DVD that removes the installer limitations. It is actually for use on the 9a466 beta of Leopard but works on the final too. It replaces the osinstall.mpkg. It requires you to make an read/write image of the DVD, replace the file then reburn it DVD. But it works. I insta

I have that model G5, it doesn't use a 'carrier'; it use 4 special screws in the bottom holes. The oversize head of these screws slides into the G5's drive bay clips. Just swap the screws from the stock drive. I use a Sony Q28A which is recognized as an Apple-shipped SuperDrive. On Sep 5, 11:28 p
