This is a good suggestion. I'd like to add a bit of advice though. When you convert, I highly suggest going to a lower resolution like 848x480 over full HD at 1920x1080. Your G5 will be hit hard with full HD, somewhat in editing but especially when it comes to exporting and burning to disc.
