The mdd's have large drive support, they are not affected by any hard drive limit. I am not sure though if os9 has a hd size limit. If it does you will just need to partition using os9 and make sure that os 9 will be able to see both partitions. Then you can install 10. Just make sure to install 9

I am looking for a way to get around the 128GB limit on my digital audio powermac without replacing the computer because I am cheap. All of the ata cards that i found either didn't support big drives or weren't bootable. Will it be reliable/possible to boot from an external firewire drive?-Jonas -

On this particular machine I haven't ran the update since I installed. I did install a predownloaded 10.4.11 update and an itunes 7 update. I think I have solved the problem though. I just bought a DL DVD RW drive at a local computer recycler for $15. I used patch-burn and it works great! Thanks!!!

Xpostfacto on beige g3's have always had video problems. Definitely get a PCI video card. I have a beige g3 with a 16mb PCI video card, a G4 500MHZ sonnet upgrade processor, with a 40GB hard drive running mac os 10.3.9. I had a tibook 2002 for about a week before I returned it with a bad mother board. When you say it doesn't give a beep are you talking about the apple chime? Does it even get power? These laptops were very inconsistent. Some of them will overheat and melt as shown in the five links. imgres

Maybe you just got a bad copy of 10.4. I have run 10.4 for on a G3 imac, G3 powermac, two G3 ibooks, two G4 powerbooks, two G4 powermacs and a G4 emac. They all run perfectly. My guess is that you just got a bad 10.4 installer. You might also want to see if you have the latest firmware version for
