I've got the code for playing MP3's in vb6, but it looks a bit complicated
and I'm not sure that the files can be manipulated in the same way as wave
files are--freq, pan, etc.

Just load it up in Goldwave or some such program--make sure there's an mp3

That's weird. If anyone else is having this problem I'll upload an
uncompressed version. I need to make a new version soon anyway--but first I
have to figure out why the music isn't playing anymore.

Hey Jim,
You said the commercials can be changed and modded, right?
I'll compress them and put them in my baseball directory and see if they
load up okay, and if they do I'll zip them up and mail them to you.

I appreciate your suggestion, but for now I plan to keep using VB6, sapi5 and

Speaking of, I'd still be very happy with a complete audio

and now put up a third one. The link is below. This morning I got up
early and could not sleep so I thought I'd play a game before coming
into work and answering Window-Eyes questions all day long.
that works fine for me.

Hi,
Could Jim add the Shell game to his casino where a coin is randomly placed
under one out of 3 shells then the shells are switched and moved and you
have to keep track of where the voin goes.

It's funny that gamers either want old-time arcades *as* they were or totally
new games--nothing like the old ones. It's time to mix the two genres--have
some arcade games that could be considered clones of the originals, but with
enough sounds, panning, and special effects to be totally

another set of tones going from left to right indicating where home plate

Folks,
How long should a demo game work before its time runs out?
Dark suggested 7 days.
Willem suggested 1 or 2 weeks.
Our Marketing people rant about 3 - 5 days.
What is your experience and preference?
Cause our current 1-day limit just has gotta go.

you know I'd like a 15day tryle with full functions in the tryle. then
it stops working. i find this good because the games from
gamesfortheblind.com have that, a 15day full demo, then boom, it
expires and it says, this game has expired, do b;lablabla to get it
registered and then u just register
yeah, a month is good, a fully functional (i.e. no features
restricted). I like this kind o tryal cuz u can get a good feel fro
the game so you can really decide on wether you wanna buy it or not.

I would give 30 days, but I think I'm generous. These 1 to 3-day demos
don't give enough time to get to know the game in order to decide whether
you want to buy or not. Fact is, with such very short demo times, I steer
away from them altogether. To me, this short time is more of a turnoff
