Hello there:
It's a cool little game to pass the time. I'll play it when I have
sometime to kill, but not much to get into a game that will get me caught up
into it to deep.
Well that is one of the bitter sweet things about getting rid of
windows, you don't have all the bs to deal with,
Hi All,
I want to try out some different muds, any suggestions?

Hi Allison,
I'm pretty sure I had to create my character using the IronRealms
website, then I could connect to the mud with it afterward.
It's been a while but I think these are the steps for getting Mush-Z to
read the text in Achaea.
Connect to Achaea, or open it without connecting.

Oh my. What a wonderfully sick sense of humor. LOL Unfortunately, I don't have
Windows anymore, so won't be able to play.

Thanks for posting this for Jim. I loved the last releas of this game.
So I can't wait to see how this one difrers from the last.
Oh PS is there any word on what is going on with Jim's email, I miss hearing
from him on hear. Do you think he would mind if I sent him a email just to
Hi.
Yes, fast scrolling is what I believe causes the problem you mentioned
previously of text vanishing off the screen before you can read it.
I can't speak for the plugin or nvda navigation of the screen, since with

Hi Dark,
I see. Yes, having NVDA automatically read the text in Winfrotz would
be nice, but I never personally found that necessary. I generally do a
shift+numpad-7 to get to the top of the screen and use numpad-9 to
read down line by line. Its a little slower than using SAPI etc, but
it does give
Hi All,
I just tried Windows Frotz 1.17 (the latest version) with NVDA 2013.2, both
with and without the plugin, and it doesn't speak any text automatically.
However, I can read what's on the screen using the screen review mode and
keys 7 and 9 on the numeric keypad, but I find it awkward as I
The developer has been told about the silencing speech issue, since that was
really the only thing which the old winfrotz tts did that modern winfrotz
with sapi does.
I'll have to give him a poke and see how he's getting to adding it.
Beware the Grue!
Dark.

Hi,
I was able to play a game with WinFrotz and SAPI 5, but in general I don't
care for that option because you can't do things like silence speech if you
need to, or have it spell certain words. I'll definitely check the
Autoscrolling setting, and will also try it with NVDA.
Thanks.

I've played that a little bit, but find myself getting lost a lot. Aetolia,
which is created by the same developers, has been friendlier to me, as they
have a pathing system.
It should ask you to enter a number to either create a character, enter the
world, or log out.

Hi Tom.
As far as I remember, the nvda plugin is supposed to auto read incoming
text, though I don't know too much about how it works, it was just a
suggestion from one of our more responsable forum members that I include the
link on the page.
Then again I've noticed myself people seem less

Hey listers! I was wondering, does anyone on here play the text-based
game Achaea, Dreams of Divine Lands? I was looking at it the other
day, and it sounds really cool and everything, but I was trying to
create a character just now and having supreme lack of success. Lol. I

Hi Kelly,
I agree with Dark. It sounds like your Winfrotz is misconfigured as I
am using NVDA without the NVDA plugin with Winfrotz and have not
experienced the problems you mention. For one thing it sounds like
autoscrolling is turned on which may be why the text doesn't match

Hi Dark and all,
I play Winfrotz all the time with NVDA, and haven't had any problems
without the NVDA plugin. So I am not really sure what the plugin does.
What is it suppose to do?
As far as the Filfre vs Winfrotz debate goes sounds like a screen
reader compatibility issue alright. I've always
