Hi Alfredo,
Well, the primary reason I don't use Sapi 5 instead of prerecorded
voices is because Microsoft Sapi is not Mac OS or Linux compatible.
Linux and Mac OS have totally differen speech APIs of their own which
is very different in design from Sapi. I've been trying for quite some
time now t
Well yes, must look into this, but urn, is this something to talk about?
I mean, what I think about this whole thing is, why can MOTA not use
SAPI5 voices instead of having prerecorded files with the voice already
within them?

Hi Lori,
Well, as I said earlier there are lots of alternatives to the Scansoft
Real Speak voices, and most of them sound pretty good. Here is a few
suggestions to check out.
First, there is the AT&T Natural Voices which happen to be sold
through Nextup.com. I actually use Mike and Cristal a lot,
Ah, fair enough, I meant the makers of the voices, if nextup is a reseller
then admittedly it's not their fault.
I believe you can try the ivona voices on Klango for free, so that might be
a way of checking things out.

Hi,
Actually, if you go directly to the Ivona site and fill out a download
form you can get a 30 unlimited day trial of any voice or voices you
want. I've hooked up a client with a 30 day trial of one of the Ivona
voices and he loves it. They are, admitedly, pretty human sounding.
