its also worth noting that every time I have done any security updates of
directx componants I have to reinstall directx same with dotnet.
the only exception is when I updated dotnet 2 and 3 to be dotnet4 compatible.
suggesting that these are standalones.
Probably I will have to reinstall directx

Hi Peter,
That's correct. DirectX is a core Windows component so it can't be
uninstalled once upgraded or installed. So the way the setup works is
when you run it it detects which components haven't been upgraded, are
missing, and updates/installs the required components. So it is safe
just to reru
uh huh that's the same problem I'm having, the only difference being that

Hi,
That's good to know, and I wasn't aware of that. Main reason is my
Windows machines are all up to date anyway with all of the latest .Net
Framework releases and SDKs so Entombed didn't have to install
anything extra. It just installed on my system and ran out of the box
without a hitch.

Hi,
Ummm..Not a good idea, but can be fixed. Do you have any .Net
Framework installed on your system? If no then DirectX will only
update and install the C++ runtime libraries while not applying or
installing any .Net based stuff. In such a case simply reinstall
DirectX again after installing or up

Hi Peter,
Hi Peter,
Wen installing .Net applications you should install or update the .Net
Framework first before installing or upgrading anything else. The
exception is if you are running something like Windows 7 which already
has the latest updates to the .Net Framework and isn't a big issue
like it is on
