Essentially, autotools is very picky and varies a lot from one version
to the next

I have implemented ganglia 3.3.1 on a cluster and have made some mods to the C
code and to some of the python modules. These changes are now stable so I

for unicasting where all nodes can have display problems if the gmond is
not changed from the default send_metadata_interval of 0 to a non-zero
value. It has been recommended to change the send_metadata_interval to 30
or 60
