The little white bugs are most likely springtails, they inevitably
arrive in any "woody" bedding, even the commercial stuff made for
reptiles! They will do abolutely nothing to your gecko, in fact, they
are feeding on fungus and mold so I essence they are probably more
helpful than damaging.

Although I definitely wouldn't recommend Uro's for beginner geckos, if I
had to choose one of the "easiest" it would definitely have to be
henkeli. Make sure you get a well-started cb baby...the older the
better.
Good luck.

Diane,
NutriBac could help your gecko with certain specific problems but it can
also be given routinely. I give it to all of my reptiles on a
semi-annual basis and after deworming or administering oral meds.

The
good thing about U fimbriatus (and most Uros) is that there's rarely any
intra-specific aggression so space is really your only limitation. Just
realize that fimbriatus really does best when given ALOT of space, my cages are
all minimum of 4' tall for my fims. I've kept
old tokay named "Max" who sits in my office.
At home, I mainly keep
Corallus treeboas and some Uroplatus and R. leachianus. I'm also the
president of the NJ Herp Society and am currently doing my research on Corallus
phylogeny.

No, I
use a syringe and feeding needle. If administering it directly like this,
you don't want to exceed 10% of their total body weight in one shot...it's too
taxing on them mainly because all of the fluid will make it harder for them to

Anyone know of an equivelent product in the States?
I've had a hard time finding the nice clean, thick New Zealand stuff. I
currently have to drive to an orchid grower's place 3 hrs away to get
