I upgraded from 2.6.37-gentoo-r4 to 2.6.38-gentoo-r6. I didn't change
anything in the config file, and used the old kernel config to compile

I have been trying for the last two days to install gentoo on a new
laptop. Issues I am having are related to Xorg. I am still unable to
get it to work. When I startx, I get a blank screen and I have to
reboot through an ssh connection to the laptop.

I don't think it updated the Xorg-server. I rebooted today, and it it
