Thank you Carl for getting back to me. I ended up getting the 250 to work. It
was an adventure to say the least. Being i'm running the 2.6 kernel. But it
does work, and with a little fines(sp) i can get it to do what i want.

i'm running the 2.6.1 kernel, have all i needed compiled as modules;
ic2-core(and the rest needed by ic2), v4l, bttv, . I've been scouring the
forums for useful informaiton on getting this card to work, but i have no had
no luck.
it also doesn't help that i can't compile ivtv with the 2.6.1 ker
I had to put in a plug, but i have had Deus Ex running in winex with no
problems for months now.

While we're talking about openssl 0.9.7 failures, abiword no longer works
after this upgrade as well. I've tried reemerging libgnome( that's the error
that happens while rebuilding abiword) and i get no love.

I had the biggest problem with this for a long time. I'm not sure of the
solution, but i tried compiling it from source( which failed). And when i
went back to the supplied binary, it worked. It was also the most recent
version of OO that i retested and got sucess. So you might wanna update if
kfilename,myfd,unlinkfile = mytuple
TypeError: unpack non-sequence
this happens in the last little bit of an emerge crack-attack. It doesn't seem
to be an important problem, but one that should be looked into.

I have rebuilt all the dependencies for transcode, and the problem still
exists. Just a side note, this problem only occurs when one chooses divx, not
ffmpeg or anything like that.
Is this a bug with the divx4linux ebuild?

Chris, did this really work for you, cause i tried it and this procedure
doesn't work for me. I keep downloading 2.1.3. And if i download it
myself and put it into /usr/portage/distfiles, emerge continues to try
and download 2.1.3 anyway.

I had the same problem, and in doing a little digging on my system i found out
it was [EMAIL PROTECTED] running in the background. So maybe if you have something
like [EMAIL PROTECTED], or seti, running in the background that could be causing
your glitch.

new gentoo-sources kernel, and had some
serious slowdown as well. To solve my problem i disabled IO-APIC support on
uniprocessors, under Processor type and features. With that enabled i
couldn't play any opengl enbled games.( not like there are alot, but that's a
another bug that needs fixing).

I've tried starting it as sshd. And it tells me that i need host keys. I have
not tried sshd start, and will later in the day. However, i fail to see how
