I've emerged glibc, python and portage and now I can't perform an env-update anymore. When I try I get the following error message on the screen:

I'm setting up grub on box using software RAID but GRUB just seems to
hang when I'm configuring it. Here are my drives:
/dev/md0 = /boot
/dev/md1 = /
/dev/md2 =
don't know if this is going to make a difference but here is how my RAID
devices are set up:
