I have a problem with my SCSI cdrom I have an adaptec controller 2940. My problem is: kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2 and then CD not found Can anybody help me I have tried the gentoo 1.4 x86 and the 1.4 basic version. (live cd's) Regards Ewald

Ahhh. In that case, please check the boot options for the standard Gentoo kernel, as documented in: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-x86-install.xml Note the doscsi boot option (which presumably is not enabled per default, as it breaks some ethernet cards.) HTH, Brian Now I'm stuck
