thanks for the clarification. I personally dont have a problem with
making a informed, mutually agreed exception (but then I'm bypassing
1.7 tactically so dont really have a valid vote IMHO :-)

Apologies, my intentions were poorly phrased. "not an option" was too

Ok, I should give a bit more context. We have not promised any client
that anything 'will be in core'. And if the community wants to block
the KML stuff that OpenGeo is hoping to get in to core we are fine with
that. OpenGeo is completely committed to more of a Bazaar type of model.
