the proposed implementation. The way many other Gnome and GTK give the
information applications do is to show a description of a menu item in the
status bar. Perhaps the existing short description/summary/blurb in most
plugins could potentially be repurposed for thi

plugins might be to give them different menu icons but expect you can
probably come up with something better than that.

For no particular reason I noticed some of the plugins have an About

Is this feature really important to some users, so much so that it needs
menu items? I am suggesting it would be better to put this in the
preferences if at all rather than cluttering the menus.

Sorry that the you were unable to unsubscribe, I have no idea why the
unsubscribe system didn't work for you but I'm pretty sure the developers
were joking and that if you are still unable to uns

The Inkscape developers would definately like to hear your opinions and
are willing to ajust things to accomdate Illustrator users (up to a point)
as things are being cha
se the Photoshop shortcuts).
If there is enough interest I will try and dig out my modified version
later this week, I might have to forward port the changes to gimp 2.0.

I agree that it would help if the scripts were moved to elsewhere in the
menus, but I reiterate my point that I do not think they do not belong in
the Select menu.

Would you like to Add Alpha?
[ Close ] [ Add Alpha]
I looked at a few other greyed out menu items that could potentially be
reenabled:
"Select Invert" when there is no selection;
Engrave plug-in seems to be disabled on layers that do not have an
alpha channel.
Maybe there is not an
future have something
like this?
~/.gimp/2.2
~/.gimp/3.0
(I'll file a bug report and try and make a patch if this idea is deemed
acceptable)

I'm surprised you have not mentioned Mac OS X which has much of the tools
that graphic designers and desktop publishers love and has versions of
free software like the gimp available for it (although not as perfectly
