The not-found font name is an XLFD (X Logical Font Descriptor); GIMP 2.x uses the newer Xft font mechanism. Change it from an indexed image to an RGB image. On the tool bar: Image > Mode > RGB You can also add an alpha channel. In the Layers dialogue, Right Click the layer and choose Add Alpha Channel. When you're finished you can flatten the image again and convert back to indexed. Ma
