kernel recompile-last step?

Hi all, I have been troubleshooting PCMCIA/802.11b networking under SuSE 7.3 on a Mac PowerBook, and learning quite a bit, actually. I'm at the last step of recompiling this feature into the kernel and have a couple questions--Aaahhh, my first recompile...'I wish my brother George were here!
