Thanks to Paul Tatham, Robert Merkel, and Robert Wackerbarth I've gotten
gnucash 1.4.1 running. I'm still a bit amazed at the number of packages
I had to install (7, including a couple more than once because the order
seemed to make a difference). And here I thought I had a relatively
complete
Alternatively, if we can get Stephan Kahnt's RPM's hosted, you might
not need to compile it yourself if you don't want to.
I've just downloaded the new RPM, will be installing on SuSE 6.4 shortly.

imlibdev, g-wrap, libjpeg.so.62. I suspect the the first and the last
dependency are because I've got SuSE 6.3 and not 6.4 (I've run into

mistake. I certainly had meant to use the most recent version so I
appreciate your pointing it out to me. So, I tried 1.4 but I can't get
it to compile, even after upgrading guile to 1.4, which required
upgrading glib to 1.2.8,
