[GNC] ASX quotes not working

I'm in Australia and suddenly all my stock price updates from ASX are now failing the past couple of days - anyone experienced this? I have two different PCs ... both showing same problem. The source for the quotes in the Security Editor is single "Australian Stock Exchange, AU". This is

The old venerable balance sheet (and many "classic" reports) are not exactly well behaved when a subset of accounts, especially of varying levels, is selected for reporting. The experimental and eguile reports may behave better. Unless someone steps up and decodes the classic reports, this is

So the fundamental issue seems to be that the report is not showing the full account tree above the accounts that contain the desired data in the same tree structure that you see in the Chart of Accounts. Is this the first time to use this report for this purpose, or is it a case that has changed

It is more than the hierarchy. Subaccounts are missing on some levels - this is the highest criticality. Look at the pictures I've sent before. The report shows the Account Taxation Class ( RRSP | TFSA ) but does not show the Account Owner. The report calculates the Cash Balance but it does not

Would it be fair to summarize the issue by saying that when some accounts are not selected for the report it fails to retain the same display hierarchy as displayed in the account tree? What sort parameters are you using there? I seem to recall that the account tree may not sort correctly if

I would stick with one or the other as they are different major versions. You shouldn't have any issues running two different minor versions such as 4.0 on one machine and 4.1 on another. There might be exceptions in some rare cases, but the devs will let everyone know if that happens and

I'll just add 2 points here: 1. I sync my GnuCash (SQL) file across Linux and macOS. In the past 3 months have not run into any issues whatsoever. I see people mention this use case regularly on the list, so it sounds like GnuCash is quite robust across multi-platform usage. 2. For anyone
