This comes down to building your chart of accounts (COA). You would be
adding Income and/or expense accounts. Easy to do when sitting on the
accounts tab. The top menu bar will have entries to ADD, DELETE, or EDIT.
The user guide will also walk you through the exercise. Give it a good
of custom or saved reports ?

Your memory was close enough and for Win7 it is buried inside C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\GnuCash folder.
Copied the 2.4 file to that location, renamed it 2.8 and BAM! All my reports
are back.

I'm not a developer of gnucash so take this with a grain of salt, but
putting a '\n' where you want the line feed might work. If you're on
windows, you might need to do '\n\r'. Try it, maybe it's a help to you,

Remember that Asset and Expense accounts are Debit accounts. So Debit
increases and Credit decreases the balances in the accounts.
Liability, Income, and Equity/Capital accounts are Credit accounts. So

That was a bug on certain releases that has been fixed. You didn't
indicate what version of GnC you are using nor did you say which O/S or

Every single time I start the GnuCash User forum site (using Windows 10 Pro,
btw, Google Chrome), and this *only occurs* when I access the GnuCash User
Adrien, that was it.I exported the accounts to a CSV. Edited the file, removed
all accounts but the one I wanted to duplicate. Edited those account lines with
the new name and imported back into GNUCash. BAM! Just what I was after. :)

I figured out how to do this once before and now for thelife of I cannot
remember. I am trying to duplicate an expense account and allof its
sub-accounts, with a new name of course, and zero balances.
