Don't compare apple with orange, For the D207, you need to compare them
with the BT-56SS. The BT-57 is more a touring grip.

I installed a 90/100W on my GTS a couple of years ago. The socket melted a few
months after. I have to say that I did some driving in 105-110F+ I don't know if
it do the same thing in more "normal" weather.
Mark Bergman had a PIAA porcelain socket install, but I wasn't able to local any.
