Frankly, just throw a start menu replacement into Windows 8 and use that.
IMO no reason to stay on 7 or try hunting down windows 7 installers if you're
Forget Dell!!! It looks like OB will order a Lenovo desktop PC of the
M83 series. I will not know until
next Monday (post order), but after our last 3 phone conversations, I am
pretty sure. Looks to be:
Lenovo mid-towercase
Intel Core i5-4570 processor
4GB (2x2GB dimms) DDR3 ram
500GB or 750GB
more memory unless he went 32 bit IMO
onboard graphic are fine unless he games.

Thanks Collective. I truly appreciate all the help. OB may not wait
until Monday. He is
quite jazzed about a display 'Lenovo' at his local Best Buy, So,
maybe he will bend his

Thane,
I may have to admit guilt for this. We had many conversations about how
long MS may
continue to support Win7; and, how soon MS launched W8 and W8.1. I still
do not know, or,
understand the breadth of the issue. Both of us decided it had to do
with 'Tablets.' Sadly he does
own a Tablet
