Not necessarily. Remember your history
OS X is based on Nextstep OS from Next (the company Jobs ran for awhile)
That OS ran on x86 chips, so the OS isn't completely tied to the PPC core.
But that doesn't mean a computer that can run windows can also run OS X as
the Next boxes couldn't.
While all three are PPC based chips they are all different so a chip
produced for one will not work on the other.

Which might be a problem. If Apple stops being IBM's largest PPC customer,
they can't bully them as much for production levels. The XBox360 and
You know, Darwin, the OS behind the GUI (Aqua) has run on x86 for quite some
time now... I'm sure most of you know this though

little stopping Apple from putting OSX

There's only a $70 price difference between XP Home and OSX.

There has been some speculation and rumor about this for a few weeks now,
all started by a blurb in the Wall Street Journal. If Apple really does
completely ditch IBM and go to Intel, then that obviously i

I can't see Apple moving to x86. Nobody will buy any new macs until the
hardware switches. Why buy into a dead achetecture?

I bet it spells the doom of Apple. Why would anyone buy a higher priced
Apple when they can compare apples to apples
