The new Jewish Review of Books features an article about the Israeli soap
opera SRUGIM and mentions that the first season is available with English
subtitles on DVD. I'm only finding it in the PAL/European format. Does
anyone know if it is available for an American audience?

Where is Yonkela was written by Marilyn Hirsh, of blessed memory, and
was based on a family story about her father when he was a baby in
the Old Country. You were spelling Yonkela incorrectly, which is
