Since we are comparing conference costs here, I thought I'd share my
experience. I regularly attend the Modern Language Association
conference. This organization consists of scholars of literature,
so it's not unrelated to what many in the AJL do. We always have our
conferences in large towns l
I've been reading with interest the discussion of the cost of the AJL
National Convention and comparing the cost with CAJE. In addition to going
to the AJL convention every year I go to CAJE every other year. Not
including airfare the price of CAJE for a commuter this year is over $600
