Re tripling:
If you decide to share your hotel room with two others, make sure
that the hotel has a tripling policy with which you're
comfortable. Two years ago the hotel said it was against state law
to have more than two beds in a room, so one of my roommates and I
had to end up sharing a

Is anyone thinking of flying to Burlington and getting to Montreal
from there? What other places can I fly to in the US and ride up with

Great point! Do we have ALA people to work on this? It would be interesting
to see whether the trash-Israel ALA would do this.

Dear Steve,
Thank you for the links to the Canadian news articles. When I mentioned
the firebombing to our menahel, he was unaware of it. It is my job to ake
this known locally.
I am hoping to have our students contribute to the rebuilding and will ask
the person in charge our Yom haShoah
I hope that librarians here will be able to get the ALA to condemn this
fire-bombing. I know they are very concerned with Palestinian libraries
and I hope they will show concern for Jewish ones as well.

I would like to apologise for being so slow in getting back to you

have duplicates or books in imperfect condition, but
they may be of texts that no one wants.
If there is a central website of books available for
donation, should it include a list of core/suggested
books? Or obsolete books?

With regard to donations of books, I was involved with Poshi Mikalson after
the library at Bnai Israel in Sacramento was destroyed in 1999. The
synagogue was deluged with goodwill by Safranim and others, literally
around the world. They received approsimately 22,000 volumes of all types

In addition to a special fund, I think that the following 'concrete' steps
might be taken:
- that the booksellers who so frequently advertise on Hasafran themselves
create some sort of a collection replacement apparatus so that, when the
damaged library reopens, it can be (at least somewhat)
