I am old school and prefer them dry, lol. I agree with Thomas, that shouldn't
have that affect.

Same here, we moved to a new location and the PH of the water was too acidic,
the DI water would remove the silver and leave it yellowed. Some solutions

Good Luck!

You may try to turn your water bath down a few degrees and see if this helps
and what is the melting point of the paraffin you are using? Most likely a
paraffin/heat situation.

I remember adding a couple drops of ETOH to the water bath; it's been a while

Make sure they sit at room temperature longer than normal and then dry them
longer. I found that cutting them thinner (3 microns) also helps.

1. As standard of care, do you process prostates as whole mounts (i.e. mega
cassettes)?
2. Are there a subset of prostate resection cases that are processed in this
manner (i.e. based on dx)?
3. Do you have any specimen types that are processed as whole mounts as
standard of care?
4.
I agree!

Hello
I have seen question for KDL asking about HPV ISH (awhile back). My lab would
like to bring on the HPV ISH using the RNA ISH probes provided by Ventana using
the silver detection, are you on board using this process for HPV, do you have
any insight for me.
Thanks! Ginny, UWHC-Wisconsin,
Hello Jacqueline
I am going thru old histo net messages and was wondering if you had any new
insight on the silver ISH for HPV testing on the Ventana ultras, my lab would
like to validate it, but I am worried about the consistency of the silver
staining.
Thank you, Ginny Kurth, UWHC, vku...@uwhe

Does or will anyone perform PLA 2R on paraffin Renal biopsies for validation

What types of specimens do other institutions deem as appropriate for STAT
processing?
Currently our institution allows biopsies for rejection, graft Vs host, r/o BK
or CMV.
Thanks for any input!
