Paula:"Optimizing" H to detect H. piloris is a rout you should not attempt  because H cannot be "optimized" for that.Giemsa is one way or, even better, modified Steiner stain. The only disadvantage modified Steiner has is using radioactive uranium nitrate, but I developed a procedure where 0.02%
