We receive these specimens fresh and hand-process through 100% alcohol, xylene, and paraffin. The crystals are water soluble, so you need to avoid any aqueous solutions. We cut one slide for routine HE staining and one slide that we just deparaffinize in xylene and then coverslip directly out of
