How long does it need to loop for? Assuming you just want it to not
go quiet while people are doing normal menu navigation, why don't you
just loop it by hand ten times with a sound editor and play the longer
mp3?

File Size?
If you want a good sounding track, looping a bunch of times by hand will
make a HUGE file.

As far as looping sounds with the source engine it is important to note that it
does look at set cue markers in a sound file to be able to loop properly,
meaning that if you try to loop a sound in game though hammer then you need to
know how
That is probably one of the ugliest things I have ever heard about,
looping by hand over 10 times, lol.

I think saying the resulting file would be HUGE is overstating it.
You could cover 99% of the cases (a user runs your mod, tweaks the
keyboard settings, and enters a game) with a ten mb MP3.
I agree looping it by hand is cheezy, but it seems better than beating
your head against a wall trying to

Well, the question here is Would you rather implement a half-assed
(probably not even :P) solution or would you do it the right way?
