I am trying to get this to work but I keep getting
[ADMIN] ERROR: Calling timer function LogConnectionTimer returned error 10
Does any of you serverops use this & have it working or is there another one
that does pretty much the same thing I can get?

Yes, running a listen server with "sv_lan 0" will make it secure (as
long as you didn't also put "-insecure" on the command line when
launching the game). Typing "status" into the console will also tell you

Can you confirm that VAC2 can run on a listen server by typing: sv_lan 0
once the server is started please.
It says:
Connection to Steam servers successful.
VAC secure mode is activated
Is VAC actually running, and can it detect people who connect to the server
with cheats?

Wouldn't sv_allowdownload 0 stop anyone from downloading from the server and
fastdls?
Besides, this shouldn't be a cvar issue when I'm the only one affected by it.
it's something clientside that is stopped me from connecting to fast dls.

if you have a downloadurl set up, you should have sv_allowdownloads = 0

As I stated, I tried with no security running as in turned off the firewall &
AV. Still no go. I can play the game fine otherwise, with or without the
security running. It's only when it needs to conenct to fast dls that it
crashes.

Well, it was actually a case issue... and I had the url set to hl2dm,
instead of hl2mp, which is where the webserver currently points.
