I have tried changing the settings below in the game Half Life Deathmatch. I
have put these settings in the server.cfg, skill.cfg, game.cfg,
listenserver.cfg, and even typed a few of them in the console. I have tried
it with sv_cheat enabled and disabled. I have also tried them with and
without
I don't have any problems changing the sk_plr_dmg cvars.
I just put them into a new file cfg\damage.cfg and exec that from
server.cfg.
I don't run any server addons though ... if you are that might be a cause.

Your do this for a Half Life 2 DM server? I can get them to work just fine
in Half Life 1 DM Source, but I just can't get them to go in Half Life 2.
Thanks.

from changing things. But I am only running three maps (dm_killbox_tower,

creating a mapname.cfg for the map with the cvars. No luck.

I noticed I was looking at an outdated cmdline on my testbox, I'm aware
its -insecure to disable VAC and not +secure 0/1.
