Lets hope the anwser is no, when players connect to a server, they connect
to that server. If I wanted to be on any other server, I would connect to
another server.

This is a side effect of the recent outage, things should clear up in
the next couple of hours (everything is back online now, some clients
have cached state that needs a restart to clear).

Hi,
I was playing around with the guest passes and happened to accidentally
redeem one myself. So, I opened up Day of Defeat: Source to notice that none
of the servers showed up as using VAC. This was using the internal in game
server browser. How
I'm trying to get Mani's to work with my dedicated source hl1mp server, and
cannot get it to start without crashing. Anyone here running hl1mp srcds and
Mani's? I would very much like to see what your configs look like.

Since we no longer can run commands on the client its not possible to do
server redirection. Im sure I am not alone missing this key feature on
the DS. Would it be possible for you to add in the abilty for servers
to execute the "connect" command on the client or something similar?

Yes L.o.D., they're fine now. But last night when the proverbial stuff hit
the fan they were either down or clogged with traffic.
And apparently their mail server was down too that handles this list since I
sent that message at 17:53EST yesterday and it just showed up a couple of
hours ago.

Hiya, seem to be getting servers showing secure 0, and when restarting
getting stuck unable to auth (on several servers/machines). Just wondering
if anyone else is getting the same problem, or any known problems at the
moment?

I restarted server and still the same problem. This is what it says in
HLSW "Insecure (secure mode enabled, disconnected from Steam3)". Any
idea's?

Even WON had multiple authentication servers physically spread out across
the country IIRC.
Now that STEAM doesn't just do Valve games, I suspect that there will be a
big push to spread these servi

Some Steam services were working and some were not... apparently due to
wide-spread power outages in the area. While I can certainly understand
circumstances beyond Valve's control causing authentication and connection
problems relative to Steam servers... what I can't understand is why my stan

No server in the entire United Kingdom is full and according to game
monitor there are only about 200-300 players playing at all.

WOW FINALLY I'm getting mail from the list. As most of you know, if you've
gotten into the steampowered forums, the storm in the Northwest of the
country knocked out Steam's servers. I myself can now get on and play, BUT,
the VAC servers are still down. Right now it's a hackers delight.

I think that in some countries troll baiting is an officially recognised sport
:)Maybe Valve could look to introduce a server rating system in some future
patch so people get a rating out of 10 for each server in the server browser to
get an id
Despite all Kyle's faults he was very knowledgeable and helpful at
times. I actually got a laugh out of his rants. I guess I'll be the
only one who misses him.

This morning all my linux css servers randomly stoped working. they would
start up but then just pause before it says connecting to steam
,
I wondering if this is caused by the steam issues atm or the box upgrade I
did yesterday.
Is anyone else having these issue under linux?
