1. Cant miss the big red print in loadout area changes will occur after respawn. 2. I didn't say they stopped working, just mentioned I have to die to visually see the new weapon. 3. I didn't notice that if I remove read only from my client config.cfg I do switch weapons immediately.

Hey, A lot of people had this issue a few weeks back. It seems if the server loses contact with steam it can't determine if players are allowed to use the weapons and denies everybody. I would make sure your servers are indeed fully connecting to steam (make sure the status command reports secure
