The exegerrated glow is very glitchy, so the chance of this being
intentional is very very low.
Besides Valve already said that they found the usage of stickies as traps
being balanced. This exegerrated glow effect won't affect "stickylobbying"
however, which was the main balance issue in the past
Just add more weapons. That'll fix it. Or hats.
Also it makes not using the sticky launcher all that much more useful.

I wouldn't be surprised if the new glow around stickies was intentional,
with the same purpose as adding the cart outline; to make TF2 more noob
friendly.

The guys is asking if he can incorporate a 'plugin' to the source dedicated
server to reject steam tickets upon a connection of a client that does not
own the game.
This is not detected by VALVe as far as I know, however, I advice you to
stick to the original server mate.

Even being a glitch, it's stupid and non-important. Consider that Valve has
to code a hole system to check if a *sprite* is being rendered through a
wall. It's stupid a waste of resources.
I have this glitch using Hammer Editor ALL the time. A 3D model rendered
through a sprite gets it glitched, a
Thanks Admin, I guess you're right. If he is asking about others doing it
and if they get in trouble for it, I suppose that's a legit question. It's
been going on for years however, so the answer is pretty obvious. I just
feel like he's wondering if he can do it too and if he will get caught,

as the true meaning is lost in translation, I don't think we can assume either
way.

I don't think you understood him Mike. He is asking (in my opinion) how he
is supposed to exist on a legitimate level when others are running on an
illegitimate level. You are making assumptions on very little knowladge..

It's a glitch, it's especially noticable with crit stickies. They're way
way brighter and larger than before (the "illumnating effect that is").

Bullet holes are red on wooden textures if using low textures.
Also there is a bug if using cl_ragdoll_physics_enable 0. Dead bodies
will spawn in random position then.

That's not a lighting glitch. Those are sprites being rendered through the

In any case, he is stating a legitimate issue, but I do not believe Valve
would address it within the mailing-list, it might be best to take it
directly to Valve to see if there is anything that can be done that has not
already been done.

I personally know that currently the US government is utilizing
stealth technology recovered from alien UFO's to monitor Russian
Counter Strike usage of pirated copies of CS:S (clients are pirated,
servers are open source). As we speak, our government, along with

I think he could be trying to say that the hosting services in his country
are selling pirated servers instead of actual servers, and that he may want
to try to compete with the services by hosting actual servers. I dunno
however, it's just a guess.

My Friends,
We shouldn't even bother discussing this on the list. He's asking about
using illegal software practices. He can go elsewhere to search for this
information. This is an Official Valve server list. I can't believe you guys
are even replying to him. All he wants to know is if he will get
That's what i think he means too. It's kind of hard to compete with
legit version over the cheap pirated servers, especially on CS/CSS scene.

No, as far as I know Valve makes no concessions towards pirated game

Hi
We want to open your game hosting. But we are interested in one
question. Valve monitors that provide for hosting pirated css server?
In our region - Russia, a lot of customers pirated the game.
Therefore, we would like to know whether or not they are prohibited.
