SteamPipe Beta for tf, which is splitted from the normal version or is this
update for the normal relase without SteamPipe. Do we have to download a
different appid for this upcumming SteamPipe update for the non-beta
version of
Ok, I saw this update is for the normal release, which we get over
hldsupdatetool. So it is good to know which appid is for
tf2-non-beta-steampipe and if the content from tf2-beta-steampipe can used
for conversion.

I just now successfully joined both my regular HLDSUpdate servers and also my

I'm using the opt-in TF2 client on OS X, connected to an HLDSUpdate server.
The server runs sv_pure 1, and has sound/ui/hitsound.wav any in its

You can run multiple instances out of the same folder.
I would not recommend trying to update a server while it is running.

Ah rats. That is due to a difference in how the pure server rules are
processed between the two versions. Looking at the code, I thought they were
100% compatible, but it looks like it might be more strict than necessary in
some cases. This should be fixed when everybody is converted to

Windows-based TF2 servers won't update successfully if they're running. No
big deal. We have always dealt with that just fine.

Dear Valve,
Any chance you could possibly add sv_steamgroup for TF2. It would be really
beneficial as it could help players connect to their favorite community
servers just by looking at the steam group and it would save community
owners a lot of time. It would an awesome feature to add!

SM does not officially
support the beta version yet and will not until closer to its release,
else it would be broken for the release version of the game.
