I really haven't found any proof of this or anything (it really is hard to
get a firm grip on whether this is the case or not because the server files
include a whole bunch of client code), but does anyone know for sure if our
dedicated servers are being used to host Xbox 360 players? Obviously, t
Agreed, these changes need to be implemented.

I'd love to get a Valve response on this. This functionality has to be in
the works, it's too important not to be.

You are misinformed. Windows 2008 offers no drawbacks compared to 2003.
Microsoft did not give server 2008 the Vista treatment in terms of resource
usage. Server OSes are really not designed to be trimmed down, unless you
are interested in running Server 2008 Core, which might be a good option as

I would really love to see a fix for this. More than likely, however, it is
not a bug, but a lack of functionality. This "problem" existed in all other
valve games as well. What we really need is some kind of cvar that would
dictate what ip address was broadcasted to the valve matchmaking system.
What I am calling for (The reasons should be self explanatory):
1. A method for creating a lobby "on" a particular server.
2. The ability to restrict (using Steam Groups) who can initially create
that lobby.
3. Those who can create lobbies on my server should be able to have full

Anyone know how configure a bat file to check for an update as soon as it's
released, setup with task scheduler?
