o host a server. Go symetrical bandwith starting at 512kbps as a
minimum or don't bother.

Using that email won't get you anywhere, maybe that's why so many people
are still on this. The correct address being

I guess it's just me, but I can see and feel the difference in
smoothness from a maxrate of 5000 over a maxrate of 1. The gameplay
and movement seems much more crisp.

You can easily setup your filter rules to filter out anything between a
certain range as well. I am only losing those server's which have a
sv_maxrate 1-5999 and there's still 10,000 showing at any given time.

Is there even a point to playing in a server that has a maxrate of 1500?
I know my gamespy is set filter anyone with a maxrate less than 6000.

I wasn't refering to loopback on your machine. I was talking about
loopback in the router and how a lot of people mistakenly think their
server is down because they get no response in gamespy using their
external ip. You also do not need to forward port 27010 since it's
outbound
t
via lan ip(no loopback on the router for udp port 27015). In the case
that there is no loopback, your server will not show up by external ip
when you refresh gamespy or the built in halflife browser. Everyone on
the outside will see it fine though.

From: [
nterfaces). If your using a
gateway/router to nat then you need to go about forwarding the servers
port.

Only the counter-strike .so and .dll we're changed so it's not going to
do squat for you unless your serving CS. Though, the HLTV proxy got an
update at the same time, you could use that.

Se
ver to the standalone dedicated server has remedied them. So there
must be something different.
