I've got a user here who says they keep getting a message invalid user

watched the console and I don't even see their connection attempt in my

Since you narrowed it down to the config.cfg, go over that, look for
something fishy, and if its serious, report to us so we can make a
server root

HLSW does not set special COMMANDS with starts the HLDS or in the
servers.cfg ahead. If one however the HLDS 3.1.1.1x uses, should one mind.
HLSW 1.0.0.3 beta have, since earlier versions do not support this HLDS.
Simply times on ftp.hlsw.org by-look...

I had the same prob because i had a line for amx admin in my config as
client because i run amx on our public.
I tried to connect to our warserver that runs without amx and i couldnt get
in and got the same message.
I deleted the amx line in my client cfg and that fixed the problem.

Yes there was, you have to put this in your server.cfg in order for HLSW to
communicate properlly with your 3111 servers.
max_queries_sec -1
max_queries_sec_global -1
max_queries_window -1
That should fix it.

i just found this document and i think EVERY admin should know about it.
i followed this tutorial - and my servers ping decreased about 10ms -
gameplay is the best i ever played on any server - no lags and very very
smooth gameplay...
i also tested the kernel patch thing - but with the patched
