Just seen on the qstat list:

Looks like a challenge-response method has been added to make the queries
traceable.
Something not documented is how long the challenge number is good for, and

Perhaps its a faulty directory, copy all your important files from
that dir to your home dir, remove the cstrike folder and update your
system again. Or you can wait for Valve to respond about it.

It certainly is for Source (SRCDS), but for HLDS you have to use +ip.
Perhaps it's just a bug, but on Windows HLDS -ip would not bind to the
specified IP; instead it would bind to the primary/main IP on the dedicated
server.
I know this is the Linux list, but perhaps my experiences with the

It was posted by Eric that the cl syntax was changed for srcds. For
hl1, use +ip, +port, and +maxplayers. For src, use -ip, -port, and
-maxplayers.

Hi. First off, I am a Windows 2003 Server user. formerly. After reading many
articles about the advantages of Linux (stability, security, etc) in running
HLDS, I have decided to start my next server running Debian. I have
experience with Linux (RH9). The true reason I'd like to switch over to
Alfred, please put in some sort of cvar to limit name changing . thx
