Are you using the FreeBSD Linux environment? Without that you have no
chance.

So, what do you want to tell us? If we use kernel 2.6.21, our servers will
be lag free for sure? Also with the latest Source update?
Best regards

Ronai the main advantage on the .21_rc* over the .20 was that you did not
need to add the hrt_dynticks1 patch to the kernel, they
With 2.6.21 you can have 1000FPS with the High Resolution Timer enabled
or the Dynamic Ticks. Dynamic ticks is cool because it basically removes
HZ on your kernel, and timer interrupts happen only when they are needed.

Oh, and i forgot to say that with high resolution timer you can have
1000FPS in HLDS with 100HZ kernel. Yes, 100HZ.

You were very aggressive against other people not having the correct kernel,
so I expected you could tell me that with 21+ kernel all your servers
stopped lagging after you tried it. But I suppose you don't have any idea
what we are talking about.

It's not kernel related:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=544787
It's the new threading model that causes this lag after some hours. I
suppose its the same synchronizing problem that prevent us first to start
the servers after the update.
