Can any of you guys recommend me a good stats package with any pros and cons
you know of please?

psychostats...thats about it, unless you want to spend money since
hlstatsx is no longer free.
psycho isn't bad although for tf2 there are a lot of actions that is
does not log and it is not real time like hlstatsx is

I'd advice against using HLstatsX if you host it yourself.
A little comparing to Psychostats, and the horrible HLstatsX coding:
HLstatsX streamer daemon, av CPU load of 70%, daemon crashes every now and
then.
Psychostats streamer daemon, av CPU load of 1-2%, daemon never crashes.

I use Psychostats, a long time user (~4 years). It is said that version
3.2 will have real time logging system, just like Hlstatx does
currently. I'd also say that there is still a free version of hlstatx
available but is a bit more limited. We run this on few of our TF2
servers where

And some of the features of the newest Psychostats versions are just
killer - I'm talking specifically about the heatmaps. They are a bit of
work to set up, but once you've got them set up, I haven't seen any
other stats app that does a similar thing, and they are a great deal of fun.

For TF2 I recommend N1G-TF2-Stats,
It's a easy to install stats plug-in that requires sourcemod
If you wan't to use it only on one server without the web interface then the
only thing you have to do is uploading 2 files to the server,
If you wan't to use the web interface or rank multiple servers
