I'm considering renting a l4d server somewhere in the middle of the country, so that I can play with my primarily east coast buddies w/ a good ping. (they don't ping well to basic server here in phx) Anyone have any recommendations? I'm trying to keep costs to a minimum. Seems texas

Hello, when i start my Gameserver on my Rootserver then the server hangs a long time in UPDATING INSTALLATION. 5-10mins or longer. I´ve binded the Ip in the startparams. Atm the server is hanging at UPDATING installiation. My Source starts fast. The firewall-ports are open. Sry for my bad

We've been having a problem with one server, even though the server is set to be secure, after a player joins the server decides to become insecure, despite the server continuing to send out a heartbeat to the master servers etc... has any one had this problem before? The startup sequence

When i start hlds alone it takes also long time. It hangs every time when i restart server with console quit or when i start hlds_run manually. Then i wait 5-10Mins then the server is started. It hangs all the time @ updating installation. Nload don´t show any traffic at starting hlds. I think

Make sure your hldsupdatetool is up to date, if you have an old version stil running it could be slow. Just delete ~/.steam/ClientRegistry.blob and then run ./steam (you need the ./ so you run it from the directory the binary is in so the update applies to the right place). - Alfred

1. my hldsupdatetool are up to date. 2. There is no ClientRegistry.blob because it is a server. 3. The InstallRegistry.blob did i deleted 2 times. But the install of my Gameserver tooks also a long time. To download the Files it tooked 2-3Hours. To install SCRDS it tooked only 5mins. 2009/1/2
