The server really only needs to know the checksum of the Valve supplied
files. After all, it does not do a real file compare.

Thanks, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. This is just plain crazy. I
rebooted the box (to make sure there are no weird ghost processes running,
although there did not seem to be before). Then I created a whole new
directory and did a full, clean install of CS:S into the new directory
Because of sv_pure. Specifically, sv_pure 2 requires that all client
files match the versions on the server.
sv_pure 1 uses a whitelist instead, but anything on it set to from_steam
(I think) needs a copy on the server.

I assume .wav files are needed to keep track of how long a sound

.vmt files are needed to keep track of surface properties

This is probably a nooby question, but I was wondering, why does SRCDS download
all the files? I don't see any reason why a server program needs to download a
ton of .wav, material files, etc. It just seems "wasteful" to have all these
files downloaded onto a server. It probably doesn't have muc

An optional update for Counter-Strike: Source is now available. Please run
hldsupdatetool to receive the update. The specific changes include:
Counter-Strike: Source:
- Fixed several problems with missing textures in community maps.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when stats get updated.
- Fix

Haven't checked yet in CSS, but if it works like in TF2, when you
enable tv (tv_enable 1) a new slot is automatically added

Hello,
I'm still getting the "Unable to load Steam support library" error on
startup. I am not running any plugins and I disabled SourceTV, but the
problem persists. I've been running an update with -verify_all several
times each day, but it always says that the installation is up-to-date
so
Weekly mutation update... go get 'em.

Hey everybody,
I want to update my dedicated server to the new Version. But when I start
./steam -command update ... ... I get the message "Segmentation
error".
I can´t start in -debug mode etc. - I don´t know what´s the problem. Until
the update the machine works fine.
Greetings and thanks
This should be fixed in the next update.

In the meantime as Valve/Hiddebn Path Studios propably works in our
favor to re-add the missing textures to CS Source, i managed to find out
most of the files that are missing thus leaving seetrough walls and
checkerboard textures on the particular custom maps. So, if you run the

yes, it was because of tv enabled. Seems now sourcetv isnt using a player slot,

More like 1 slot too few. I have 40 slots on start line, status reports
40 and 2 of those reserved slots. Visiblemaxplayers is set to 38 so no
one accidently uses the 2 extra reserved. Due to this reason i tend to
keep them always free and not filled. However, 38 slot seems to be yet

Well fixed, this should be very helpful to the Unix users on the list.

At the moment the autoupdate funktion is broken. If you use it, it will
start downloading the server again into orangebox/orangebox etc.
This is caused by a leftover from pre orangebox?
Anyway, in line 296 in the srcds_run it is still:
DEPOT_ROOT="."
That is causing the trouble.
