Thank you very much for implementing this. I hope this gets implemented
in the other Valve srcds games too.
I've got a host with two IPs and eleven srcds games that could all
potentially be running at the same time.
So, I tested by copying one of my TF2 server directories to make a clone
Those gaps, surrounded by spikes in traffic, look a lot like choke, and
I see that your "in" rate is also very high. Try raising your client
"rate" to 10 or a similarly high number, or raise sv_minrate on the
server to something very high like 10, and these will likely go away.

You have a X5675 with only 2gb ram? If you are on a vps your host is
probably stuffing the node.

What would cause a blank gap in net_graph 4 like this:

It's happening to everyone on the server, causing players to stutter with
this temporary gap.
The server is a Xeon X5675 @ 3.07GHz, 2gigs ram, running Ubuntu 10.10

I can confirm this , started crashing even at 03:00 at night with nobody on
them.. but with the latest update, so far I have not seen crashes, but still
too early to tell. (this issue was introduced not with the latest update
but the one before that)

I'm not sure was it the update before this one or the previous one but
my rock-solid-stable-replay-enabled servers started crashing. I switched
replays off from every one of them due to this.

Required updates for Team Fortress 2 are now available. The specific changes
include:
- Added a new command line option: -strictportbind
- If you launch the game with this option it will quit with an error message
if it can't bind to the default or specified port
- Fixed a server crash cause
Did however not fix the problem with our servers logging into the FTP, time
out then freeze up. :| Actually, they stayed somewhat stabler... but only
for a bit longer.

Thanks Jon, just what the doctor ordered :)

Good idea.
I added a check for "-strictportbind." Without this, the engine will print a warning, otherwise it will print an error and
quit.
Messenge? I don't know what a Messenge is, but it sounds nasty to have mails
filled with messenge.
Anyway, you probably want to unsubscribe here:

somehow.

Does
Does this give out a different error level, so that one can say "if error,
then sleep 30" so that scripts that just start up the server after crash
dont come into a endless loop if the port is still in use, since i can
understand people would not be so happy if it restarts 24/7 every
(mili)second.
