Leadpipe a bit too long, slide on change valve longer than
Alex103, valve slides somewhat different. I dont know if
Alexander ever renewed their patent, but I doubt as they
even did not own a copy of their patent for the 103. They
got a copy from my patent collection.

I had one of these Besson horns in silver plated
brass. According to the serial number it was made
in the mid 1960s.
It had quite a few dents and re-soldered joints,
but played VERY well. So well, in fact, that a Pro
player bought it from me. I had hoped to keep the
horn, but he wanted it
Studentiphonium ? A very good new name. But nevertheless,
there are several cheap brand horns in the world, which do
not sound bad, in contrary, they (at the lips of a good
player) even sound better than other very expensive
instruments (sometimes). But KlausĀ“ evaluation is quite
right. Also

Dear Friends ---
If you haven't already guessed ( I'm sure you have), the link below was
sent to the horn list 100% mistakenly in an error-filled attempt to send it
to a friend of The Chief Of Staff who as it happens is into stuff like that.
The Chief Of Staff I, by contrast, are not into

I'd love to hear about it!

It was not a violation of the Alex patent as Alexander did
not renew the patent patents expire after 5, 10 or 15
years. Patent rights do not protect the inventions as does
the copyright law for other things.
I'm sure that Besson gets their stenciled horns from Lidl, now for at
least 10 years. Hoyer also makes a very good horn with this wrap (sort of a
cross between Geyer and Kruspe). I have seen and played several owned by
KBHCers. They are tighter and brighter than the Geyer wrapped Hoyers

No, Alan, I am not annoyed at all, and, at this very moment, enjoying
Internet dating very much. It sure beats other some options.
By the way, how are you doing?

Looks like all we need is this cd and we can fix our own horns!

Nearly four years ago I announced that I was coming back to this list after
a five-year childbearing hiatus. Before that I had made my post-college
comeback, having nearly broken into the professional scene before I got
knocked up. Well, a few days after I made that announcement in February of

Knopf was not part of the Markneukirchen brass instrument conglomerate that now
includes Hoyer, but all of the makers in the former GDR were required to sell
