Hi all
I'm back in NJ after a time abroad and keen to get playing again. Is
there any community group in the northern NJ area (Bergen country or
close) looking for a horn?
I can also play clarinet if necessary.
Thanks,
Kerri

Hi all
I'm playing horn for a musical production of Sondheim's Into the Woods.
There is some stopped horn in the music labeled appropriately but also some
lines with the indication "mute". But would this be straight mute? Stopped?
I don't know if "mute" is just assumed to be straight.
Thanks,

Hi all
A bit of an obscure request but I'm frustrated (and disbelieving of) with
receiving orchestra pieces containing only horn parts 1 and 2.
The piece is Somewhere Out There by James Horner, Barry Mann and Cynthia
Weil. Arranged by Bob Lowden and published by Hal Leonard Concert Orchestra

On the same note, what's the opinion of practice mutes? Are they worth it or
should one just resolve to disturb the neigbours?
Thanks,

Hi all,
I own a battered King and am curious about the model's purpose/history. On
the bell, it is inscribed "King Musical Instruments USA" and the only number
I can find on it is on the mouthpiece end "1159". Can anyone tell me more
about this model or point me in the right direction?

Hi all
I play in a city orchestra and last rehearsal we were missing clarinets. So
I was doubling on clarinet and horn for the evening instead of usually just
sticking to horn. I found that when I went back to horn, I was playing more
sharp than normal however it seemed to correct after a page of
Hi all
I recently bought a Paxman mouthpiece. After playing 2 weeks on it, I think
I am allergic to the metal. I'm going to have it lacquered but am curious as
to what the mouthpiece is composed of. It doesn't look like it has any
lacquer (gold, silver-nickel) on as it's a dull tan colour. My tent
Hi all
I'm in originality a clarinetist (have been for 13 years) and had my first
encounter on horn by playing mellophone in marching band for 6 years. I
rarely had a tuning issue then.
I'm now trying to learn the french horn. I've been playing for 3 months and
seem to play quite sharp even thou
Hi all
As a player in the band, Windworx, that accompanied the 4 horn players on
Konzertstuck, I'd just like to say that they sounded amazing! It was great
being a part of the symposium in that way.
I hope everyone who made the long trek down here enjoyed their experience.
