I am not in an active duty band, but a guard band. It is required that we a
play the provided 8d's. The suppossed thought is it looks better and should
sound better. So we therefore all play on new lacquered screw bell 8d's. I was
told that I can not play in the ensemble with a lawson bell if i

thought on why cerain teachers teach a certain way. It isnt music related, but

I have two recordings besides london horn sound of people hitting the A above
high C. One is the american horn quartet playing Haydn 39. The other is on
audition improbable, in the practice tape track, I think it is the loudest A I
have heard.

The new Vienna horns CD is amazing. The bruckner 4 third movement blew me away.
